Reese Witherspoon slips into a swimsuit as she joins her family for beach fun

Making a splash: Reese Witherspoon made the most of the heatwave this Independence Day Weekend when she put on a black swimsuit and cooled down in the sea on Malibu beach


It was a weekend packed with sun, sand and swimsuits for Reese Witherspoon as she hit the beach with her family.

The Academy Award winning actress relaxed on Malibu beach in a stylish black all-in-one swimsuit.

With her blonde locks loosely tied back off her face and wearing a pair of black Ray Bans, the 35-year-old beamed with joy as she made her way down to the shore to cool off.

The mother-of-two looked to be in fine shape as she showed off her enviable curves in the black one-piece.

She was joined her husband of three months, Jim Toth, and her children, Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7.

Later, the happy foursome took a leisurely stroll together along the white, sandy beach with their family pet, a cute French Bulldog.

While the rest of Los Angeles was awash with glitzy, Independence Day parties, Reese happily opted for some quality downtime with her family instead.

Swapping her swimsuit for a comfy, loose-fitting jeans and an oversized grey hooded sweatshirt, the Legally Blonde star could not have looked more content and at ease as she took in the ocean views with her brood.

It was the perfect Sunday afternoon for the star and a welcome break after her gruelling promotional work for her recent movie, Water For Elephants.

Her adorable family also looked to be enjoying themselves as they ran along with their pet dog.

Reese's son, Deacon, braved the chilly waters as he ran in and out of the surf in a pair of red board shorts.

One family member who looked notably more like her superstar mother than ever, was Reese's daughter, Ava.

Dressed in a vibrant yellow T-shirt, black shorts and a large collection of accessories, Ava paid a close resemblance to a young Reese in the 1999 movie, Election.

Ava has recently cut her hair short, just a few weeks after Reese chopped her own long locks off, proving she already considers her glamorous mother a style inspiration.

The 11-year-old's choice of quirky, secretary-style spectacles, string of pearls and large collection of colourful bracelets, proved she's already expressing her own style.

Reese Witherspoon's Eye Blister Stops Shooting

Reese Witherspoon brought filming on her new movie to a halt after developing a painful blood blister on her eye. But the actress was more concerned about closing production on the set of Four Christmases for half a day, than her eye condition.

An on-set source says, "Reese kept apologizing to everyone from producers to the lighting guys."

In the film, Witherspoon stars alongside Tim McGraw and Vince Vaughn, who is also one of the movie's producers.

The source adds, "Reese was especially concerned about Vince's reaction to her causing the work stoppage. He's not only her leading man but one of the film's producers. He was more concerned about her eye than losing a day's shoot."

Reese Witherspoon and Angelina Jolie named highest paid actress

Reese Witherspoon has been named the No. 1 highest paid actress in Hollywood. The ‘Rendition’ star is said to be earning $15 to $20 million per movie. Angelina Jolie placed second on the list with the same price range.

‘Shrek’ star Cameron Diaz comes in third with $15 million followed by Nicole Kidman with an asking price of $10 to $15 million. Renee Zellweger, Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts also land in fourth place with similar checks.

Drew Barrymore and Jodie Foster round out the top ten with $10 to $12 million per film. Halle Berry also makes the list with an even $10 million asking price.
